New Country CD in the making……
It’s 2024 and after a three year wait, I am finally going to finish up my Christmas CD and New Country CD. I will go to Florida in April to team up with my long-time producer Rodney Mills to add vocals to the 27 tracks we cut in Nashville, TN. Then we add the background vocals, the extra strings and horns and then the artwork and pressing. Sounds easy, but it’s not. It’s the longest part of finishing a New CD. Cutting it is easy, but adding vocals, mixing and mastering takes a long time.
We did a 3-day recording session in Nashville with my Norwegian Partners (Kom og Dans), my producer, Rodney Mills and the A-Team of Musicians a few years back and now by the “Grace of God”, we hope we can finish it. Many of you know I have a Senior Health Charity called Dancing For The Dream that uses line dance as it’s chosen form of exercise. We host Bootscooter Line Dance Camps across the USA. This year I’m raising money to finish my CD by hosting our dance camps, selling existing products, event t-shirts and of getting as many private donations as possible. Our costs will be about $20,000 to finish the two CD’s.
Meanwhile, I had cut a duet with Bruce Springsteen in November 2022 at his request called Shama Lama Ding Dong. I released my version in November of 2022 and worked it all the way up to #10 on the radio charts when it stopped climbing. We were going to tour together in Europe when Bruce developed a form of throat cancer taking him off the road indefinitely. The duet just sits now till Sony Records makes a decision of what to do with it. (Bruce and I record for the same label).
I’m writing new songs, working a few days a week in our regional hospital, Chatuge Regional Hospital and preparing to release my second single to radio called “Pride & Joy” in late April. This time I hope to take it to #1. For all of you who continue to buy my CD’s and download my singles on legal download sites, I love you for your support and pray you be blessed daily.
See you at the festivals and on the dance floor.
Love from the North Georgia Mountains,
Scooter Lee
